Valve B/M No. RNU-205 is installed with an undersized motor operstor.

This valve is classified as "active" class IE and is essential to safe shutdown of the reactor for containment isolation.

CAUSE:

In review of~the Engineering Records it was discovered that 50 PSID rather than 1400 PSID was used' for sizing the motor for this valve.

This oversight was caused by the engineer failing to change the sizing j

AP from the previously sized motor operator'on a computer program.

possible. The user is aware of a potential problem, and has been advised through a copy of this letter. Other calculations performed by the same engineer have been identified, checked and found to be in order.

During the interim needed to acquire a new operator, the operator from the valve assembly of B/M RNU-204 Unit 2 valve in Perry warehouse can be utilized.
