DOCKET N05. 50-338 AND 50-339 This ' acknowledges the receipt of your letter of March 8,1988, which trans-mitted Revision 20 to the North Anna Physical Security Plan.
l Our review of the changes has found portions of ti e changes to be consistent with the provisions of 10 CFR 50.54(p). One change is not consistent with the provisions of 10 CFR 50.54(p) as delineated in the enclosure to this letter and discussed in a teleconference on April 5,1988 between Mr. Beauchamp_ of your staff and Ms. Masnyk of the Region staff.
l To preclude a violation of regulatory requirements, you must _not continue to i
implement the change deemed inconsistent. Please revert to the commitments ir.
t your previously approved plan or, if desired, modify your plan to accommodate i
the enclosed comments and resubmit corrected plan pages at,' necessary to l
maintain plan continuity.
Should you want to pursue the change deemed inconsistent, you must submit a request to the Commission's Offico of Nuclear Reactor Regulation, under the provisions of 10 CFR 50.90 for' amendment to your license.

ENCLOSURE Revision 20 to the North Anna Physical Security Plan Change Deemed Inconsistent with the Provisions of 10 CFR 50.54(p)
Section Comment Section 3.2.2.4.4, page 3-18 This 2ction discusses the staging of material for delivery into the protected area in a warehouse outside of the protected area.
The previous revision stated that material "will" be searched and then escorted by security personnel into the protected area; this revision changes the word "will" to "may".
This could be interpreted to mean that material may or may not be searched and then escorted into the protected area.
Revert to your original commitment to "will" be searched.
