NRC INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-327/88-16 /.ND 50-328/88-16

This refers to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (hRC) inspection conducted by

S. Elrod on February 29 - March 4,

1988.

The inspection included a review of

activities authorized for your Sequoyah facility.

At the conclusion of the

inspection, the findings were discussed with those members of your staff

identified in the enclosed inspection report.

Subsequent to the inspection,

your site management was informed of the unresolved item discussed below on

April 19, 1988.

Areas examined during the inspection are identified in the report.

These

areas included operational staf fing, review commit.ee activities, maintenance

status, status of testing, and review of your operational readiness assessment.

Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective examinations of

procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel, and observa-

tion of activities in progress.

Within the scope of the inspection, no violations or deviations were identi-

fied.

One unresolved item was identified concerning the technique used for

end-of-cycle moderator temperature coef ficient measurement.

This matter will

be purused during future inspections.

In accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," Part 2,

Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter and its enclosure

will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
