SUBJECT:
CONFIRMATION OF ACTION - DOCKET NOS. 50-338 AND 50-339 This letter refers to the telephone conversation on January 24, 1986, between Ms. Nancy E. Clark of your staff and Mr. Virgil L. Brownlee of this office, con-cerning the results of the NRC administered written and simdator requalification examinations. These examinations were administered to reactoc operator and senior operator personnel at the North Anna Nuclear Plant on December 4-6, 1985.
Based upon the matters discussed, it is our understanding that you will take the following actions:
The three senior operators who failed the NRC requalification examinations administered on December 4-6, 1985, will be prohibited from performing licensed duties beginning January 20, 1986. They will not be returned to licensed duties until they have satisfactorily completed an accelerated requalification program and passed an examination reviewed by the NRC prior to administration. These three individuals are identified by license number in the Enclosure to this letter.
Virginia Electric and Power Company representatives will meet with Region II to discuss the examination results and corrective actions which will be implemented to assure continuing operator competence.
