Gentlemen:
This refers to the special inspections conducted by Mr. R. C. Stewart of this
office during the periods April 15-19; July 17-19; and October 22-25, 1985, of
activities authorized by NRC Operating 1.icense DPR-34 for Fort St. Vrain
Nuclear Station, and to the discussion of our findings with Mr. J. W. Gahm, and
other members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during the inspections were specifically focused on the
corrosion phenomenon occurring on steel tendon wires of the prestressed
concrete reactor vessel (PCRV) Tendon System. Within this area, the inspection
consisted of selective examination of the test reports, procedures, and
representative records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the
inspector. Those findings are documented in the enclosed inspection report.

Within the scope of the inspection, no violations or deviations were
identi fied.
