2. Description of Activities Lanekco Precision Corporation is authorized by the general license contained in 10 CFR 40.22 to use and transfer not more than fifteen pounds of source material at any one time and not more than a total of 150 pounds of source material in any one calendar year. The licensee machines magnesium thorium panels for General Electric Aerospace Division, King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.

No violations were identified.

3. Background Lanekco Precision Corporation employs approximately 50 people. In addition to machining magnesium-thorium products the licensee also machines aluminum, titanium, alloy steel, and steel products.

Shipping and receiving records show that the licensee received their first shipment of magnesium-thorium plate for the General Electric project on December 12, 1985.

The licensee has never exceeded the limits of source material that they are allowed to possess at any one time or within a calendar year.

No violations were identified.

4. Training The Vice President stated the employees are given training on the safe handling of the product and how to handle a fire involving product. This was verified by the employees interviewed who stated that they were given fire suppression training. These employees indicated that they were unaware that the product contained radioactive materials,but were instructed to properly segregate the magnesium-thorium scrap from the other scrap generated at the facility. Special waste containers were provided for the magnesium-thorium scrap.

No violations were identified.
