This refers ta the inspectio'n conducted.by Messrs. P. H. Harrell and T.1Reis-of?

this office during the period June.29.through July'18, 1988, of activities

authorized by NRC Operating License DPR-40 for the Fort Calhoun Station, and to:

the discussion of our findings with Mr.' L. T; KJsek;(Acting Plant Manager)' and

other members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection. .

The area examined during this inspection was 'a . followup ~on your staff's

finding that the limiting condition .for operation for-excore monitoring of

linear heat rate and the thermal margin / low pressure trip setting-of the reactor

protection system were in error. Within this area, the. inspection consisted of'

selective examination of the Technical Specifications ~, interviews with-

personnel, and observations made by the NRC. inspectors. The'inspecticn findin'gs

are documented in the enclosed inspection report.
