Subject:

Request for Cost Estimate for the Installation of Additional Circuitry; and Permission to Use Site and Company Property for Contingency Telecommunications The following information is in response to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Region I request for assistance in the installation of contingency emergency telecommunications equipment at the Vermont Yankee facilities; namely,

1) a cost estimate for the installation of additional telephone circuits in the Emercency Operations Facility (EOF); and 2) permission for the NRC to install temporary antennas during emergencies (Reference b)].

The cost estimate to permanently establish four pair, 24-gauge wire from the NRC room at the EOF to the roof is $125.00, including material, labor and weatherproof box. This wiring installation for the EOF will be provided by Vermont Yankee.

By this letter, Vermont Yankee hereby grants permission to the USNRC for the long-term use of the two-hundred-eighty (280') foot level of the met tower for the temporary installation of antennas and repeater packages in the event of an emergency.
