CLOSE0VT OF MCGUIRE TACS 67755 and 67756 On May 27, 1988 I issued a meeting sunnary for the post-implementation followup review regarding McGuire Units 1 and 2 instrumentation for detection of inadequate core cooling. Attached to that meeting sursnary Wds a report by our Consultants from Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
By memorandum dated July 25, 1988, Mr. W. Hodges transmitted to PDII-3 an SER associated with this follow-up review.
The SER is essentially the same report as was attached to the meeting sursnary.
Both reports conclude that the systems are performing satisfactorily, that maintenance problems are reduced to an acceptable level, that operator acceptance is good, and confidence in the indications is high.
Additionally, as was acknowledged in the forwarding letter to Duke, further reporting will be included in a composit report in early 1989 based upon reviews of several nuclear power plants. No further action is needed for the McGuire input.
Accordingly, I find that no SER need be issued to Duke and that the McGuire specific TACS 67755 and 67756 may bi; closed effective the date of this mectrandum.
