DESCRIPTION:
l The elemental cobalt-60 or iridium-192 is singly encapsulated in L
a stainless steel capsule consisting of two parts joined and sealed by silver solder.
Overall length is 0.75 inches (19.01 mm).
Minimum wall thickness is 40 mils (0.0001 mm).
The no-j active end of the source is in the form of a hexagonal nut one-l half inch.(12.7 mm) across the flats with a center tap 13/32 of j
[
an inch (10.3") in depth ~with 1/4 - 20 threads.
A one-sixteenth inch (1.59 mm) diameter hole penetrates the hexagonal end of the sources through the flats, 3/32 of an inch (2.4 mm) from the end of the source.
The source may be handled by means of a magnetic pickup.

l An aluminum tag bearing the information required by 10 CFR l
34.25 (e) will be attached to the source by.means of a multi-stand stainless steel leader.

As of the effective date of this document, the Model MH "Open Air" Radiography Source is no longer manufactured and distributed by Cumberland Research Corporation. Cumberland Research Corporation's materials license expired July 31, 1977 and the j
company is no longer in business.
l-This source was approved for licensing purposes by the Atomic j
. Energy Commission (AEC) on July 23, 1970.
There is insufficient information'on file for this device to perform a safety I
evaluation.
Therefore, this certificate is being reissued l
without further review based on the original review and approval l
issued by AEC.
