Complete In our renorandum of October 19, 1984, which transmitted our input to the SSER, we stated that the evaluation of the safe shutdown capability and alternate shutdown capability were open and would be provided by the Auxiliary Systems Branch (ASB).
Attached is SSER Section 9.5.1.4, "Fire Protection of Safe Shutdown Capability," and "Alternate Shutdown Capability," prepared by ASB.
This SSER contains a corTnittent fr0m the applicant that a "Fire Hazards Panel" and associated safe-shutdown-related irodifications be installed at the first outage after exceeding 51 power. Until this work is cortpleted, a fire watch will be implemented as a compensating measure.
MCET wishes to modify this schedular position to one that would require the "Fire Hazards Panel" and associated modifications to be made prior to exceeding 51 power.
