Dear Mr. Bauer:
TBarnhart-4 During the current unscheduled maintenance outage for the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station, Unit 3, ultrasonic inspections of the reactor pressure vessel jet pump instrument nozzle seals revealed a number of unacceptable crack indications. You took corrective actions to repair these nozzle seals and reported the results of the inspections, analyses, and repair procedures in a letter to the :mC dated June 20, 1984.
Based upon a meeting and related discussions with your staff and our review of your submittal, we find the corrective actions you have taken are acceptable. With the issuance of this letter, plant restart is hereby authorized for continued operation until the start of the next refueling outage.
A copy of our Safety Evaluation is enclosed.
