N ne Please amend our NRC Special Nuclear Material License SNM 1492, Amendment 05, to remove a Texas Nuclear Model HMC-C 1049 NALA analyzer f rom service at our Empire plant and moved to Pellet Technology Corp. located at County Road 492, Eagle Mills Location, Negaunee, Michigan 49866. This unit is lisced by Items 6C, 7C, 8C and 9C of our current license. The unit will continue to be owned and licenced by The Cleveland-Cliffs Iron Co.

The move and installation of the system will be supervised by a qualified person irom Texas Nuclear. Upon completion of the installation, the authorized users at Pellet Technology Corp. will receive specialized train-ing from Texas Nuclear.

The users at Pellet Technology Corp, are as follows:

John Kohut - Chief Chemist - B.S., M.S. Chemistry Ray Rappazini - Lab Technician - B.A. Health & Physical Ed.

Charles Lanctot - Iab Technician - B. A. Education The leak testing and inventory record requirements will be fulfilled by Cleveland-Clif f s Iron Company personnel.

All other conditions of the license will remain the same.

It is our hope that you will be able to expedite the issuance of this amend-ment.
