By letter dated May 11, 1988, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff requested additional information regarding a
proposed Technical Specification amendment submitted by Georgia Power Company on October 24, 1986.
The proposed amendment would change certain surveillances and limiting conditions for operation associated with the remote shutdown panels.
Presently, as part of the Technical Specificaticns Improvement Program (TSIP), discussions between the NRC staff and the BWROG Technical Specifications Committee concerning the removal of the remote shutdown panel from the generic BHR Technical Specifications are being conducted.
Accordingly, Georgia Power Company wishes to defer action on the submittal until this issue is resolved as part of the TSIP.
