Gentlemen:
This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. R. C. Stewart of this office
during the period May 16-20 and June 6-9, 1988, of activities authorized by NRC
Operating License NPF-38 for the Waterford 3 Steam Electric Station, and to the
discussion of our findings with Mr. J. R. McGaha and other members of your
staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
The area examined during the inspection was the Unit 3 inservice testing
program for pumps and valves. Within this area, the inspection consisted of
selective examination of procedures and representative records, interviews with
personnel, and observations by the NRC inspector.
The inspection findings are
-documented in the enclosed inspection report.
Within the scope of the inspection, no violations or deviations were
identified.

One unresolved item is identified in paragraph 2.f of the enclosed inspection
report.
