McGuire Nuclear Station Docket Numbers 50-369 and 50-370 Change to Technical Specification 4.8.1.1.2.e.6(c)
Attached is a proposed Technical Specification change to correct Specification 4.8.1.1.2.e.6(c), which requires that certain Diesel Generator (D/G) Trip Functions he bypassed in the event of a concurrent loss of voltage on the emergency bus and a safety injection actuation signal.
The current specification requires that all generator breaker trips, except generator time overcurrent, be verified to be bypassed.
The requirement to test generator breaker trip bypasses is in excess of standard technical specification requirements and is inappropriate.
The generator time overcurrent trip, however, trips the D/G as well as the breaker; therefore. this trip is retained in technical specifications.
A proposed change to Technical Specifications is included as Attachment I.
A justification and safety analysis is contained in Attachment II and a Significant Hazards Analysis pursuant to 10 CFR 50.91 is in Attachment III.
It is requested that this request be processed on an emergency basis.
Attachment IV contains a justification for processing of this amendment request on a emergency basis, as defined by the criteria of 10 CFR 50.91.
