ENCLOSURE 1 NOTICE OF DEVIATION Georgia Power Company Docket No. 50-425 Vogtle Unit 2 License No. CPPR-109 The following deviation was identified during a f'ucle.ar Regulatory Commission (NRC) inspection condteted on May 23-26, 1988.

Georgia Power Company letter to the NRC dated December 21,1987,(File-X7BC35) concerning removal of the control room temporary gypsum board fire wall states that a fire hose cabinet immediately adjacent to the control room entrance with 150 feet of hose would be available to protect all areas of the control room.

In addition, the fire hose cabinet door latch was inoperable and construction electrical cords were stored inside the cabinet.

Please provide to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Comission, ATTN: Document Control Desk, Washington, DC 20555, with a copy to the Regional Administrator, Region II, and a copy to the NRC Resident Inspector, Vogtle, in writing within 30 days of the date of this Notice, the reasons for the deviation, the I corrective steps which have been taken and the results achieved, the corrective I steps which will be taken to avoid further deviations, and the date when your '
