Dear Sir:
On December 7, 1987, Duke Power Company submitted a steam generator tube rupture analy. sis for Catawba Units 1 and 2 in accordance with License Conditions 16 and 10 of Facility Operating Licenses NPF-35 and -52, respectively. A proposed amendment to the Technical Specifications, which would. add requirements for the steam ger.arator PORV's, was submitted on December 4, 1987, in response to the same license conditions. By letter dated December 25, 1987, Duke advised the NRC that the proposed Technical Specification and the supporting analysis would be y
revised in order to justify a less restrictive action statement for the steam generator PORV's. While doing the reanalysis, questions arose relating to the l
North Anna tube rupture event that had t o be considered. As a result the revised analysis and Technical Specification chenge will be submitted by May 16, 1988.
