Inspection No. 50-354/88-16
This letter transmits the findings of the routine, resident safety inspection
conducted by Mr. G. Meyer and Mr. D. Allsopp conducted from April 26, 1988
to May 31, 1988 at the Hope Creek Nuclear Generating Station.
The findings
were discussed with Mr. S. LaBruna of your staff.
Within the scope of this inspection, the inspectors did not find any
violations. However, this inspection report documents six licensee identi-
fied violations, and the previous resident inspection report documented two
licensee identified violations.
Five of these violations occurred during the
refueling outage and appear to be related to the outage being Hope Creek's
first refueling outage. As of the date of this letter, no additional
licensee identified violations have occurred following the reactor restart
from the outage. Nonetheless, PSE&G management should ensure that the
corrective actions associated with these violations are pursued vigorously
to prevent future outage related violations and should continue to operate
the reactor such that additional violations are prevented.
