February 24, 1988 letter from J. W. Gallagher (PECo) to J. G. Partlow (NRC)
Dear Mr. Partlow:
The reference letters provided information concerning the Philadelphia Electric Company (PECo) Fitness-for-Duty Program.
This letter is to advise you that a drug screening program will be implemented in the third Quarter of 1988 rather than the Spring of 1988 as discussed in the reference 2 letter.
The schedule has changed because PECo is developing a new stronger drug policy which will be applicable to all its employees, with special considerations for those requiring nuclear unescorted access.
Facilities will bc in place for drug screening at Peach Bottom in July, but drug screening will not occur until the vendor organizations have been advised of the new Fitness-for-Duty specification requirements.
Drug screening for PECo employees is expected to start in August 1988.
Sincerely, Yf4 8807150133 890706 d
