(c) August 28, 1987 letter from C. A. McNeill to USNRC Document Control Desk With reference (a) Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) provided an Offsite Dose Calculation Manual (0DCM), Revision 2, dated January 1986, for the Hope Creek Generating Station.
Reference (b) documented the staff's acceptance of this ODCM. Since that time several revisions to the Hope Creek i
0DCM have been submitted to the NRC, Accompanying reference (c) was the Hope Creek Semiannual Radioactive Effluent Release Report for January to June, 1987 and a complete Revision 8 to the Hope Creek 0DCM dated June 1987.
The Revision 8 ODCM for Hope Creel has been reviewed for us in its entirety by our contractor, EG5G Idaho, Inc. Their discussion and coments are contained in their TER, EGG-PHY-7897 (enclosed). We agree with the contractor that this t
ODCM uses methods that are, in general, consistent with staff guidelines and 1
is an acceptable interim reference.
However, in the TER there are listed a number of discrepancies and suggestions, some typographical in nature, others

dealing with technical issues. Since these questions involve refinements to a basically sound document, there is no need for immediate action.
However, we request that all of the points raised in the Conclusions section of the 1ER be addressed by PSE&G within six months in a new revision to the ODCM.
