Dear Mr. Stolz:
This letter responds to an informal request for ad-ditional information on connections Mtween tho firewater and transfer storage tank and the auxiliary feedwater system.
This connection is being made in accordance with the Staff's requirement for an extended source of auxilit...y feed-water.
Connections will be installed on lines from the condon-sato storage tanks and from the firewater and transfer storage tank which will allow the tank levels to equalize.
Amendment 66 to our operating license application (pages 5-6, 5-6b and 7-17) discusses this arrangement.
Design calculations will confirm that the required flow rate can be supplied by gravity.
Any hose for uso in making temporary connections will be inspected periodically in accordance with the normal require-ments for inspecting all the fire hoses in the plant.
Five copies of this submittal have been sent directly to Mr. Dennis Allison.
Kindly acknowledge receipt of the above inatorial on the enclosed copy of this letter and return it to me in the enclosed addressed envelope.
