SUBJECT:

SAFETY EVALUATION OF THE PERSONNEL AIR LOCK SEAL AIR SYSTEM ISOLATION The South Texas Project informed the staff by telephone on February 12, 1988 and by letter dated February 18, 1988 that certain solenoid air valves had been overlooked for entry into the list of containment isolation valves.

Immediate actions were taken to meet containment isolation requirements.

Expedited staff action was requested to permit Unit 1 to continue on the start-up program. Enclosed is the staff's safety evaluation which finds the ,

South Texas proposals to be acceptable.
