The SPLB position has been that they cannot complete their uprating review until the main-steam-line-break-cutside-containment-with-superheated-steam is complete. The one open superheat review item regarding qualification of the HSIV/MFIV control cable, wiring and lugs has now been resolved. The close out safety evaluatinn was issued to the licensee on February 18, 1988.
Resolution of the superheat review has permitted the uprating review to proceed. The amendment package has been typed and is in concurrence. The package is currently with OGC. This amendment package differs from others in two regards. First, it requires T. Murley's signature (due to power level increase). Second, it must be provided to ACRS for review and their comments must be addressed. A copy of the safety evaluation was mailed to ACRS on February 18, 1988.

STATUS OF CALLAWAY UPRATING REVIEW (FOLLOW-UP TO NOTE ON 2/9/88 - ENCLOSED)
Previously, SPLB had taken the position that they could not complete their uprating review without completing the superheat review. However, all of SPLB's superheat concerns were recently resolved and the close out safety evaluation was issued to the licensee on February 18, 1988.
Regarding the uprating review, the amendment package has been typed and is in concurrence. Currently OGC has the package. This amendment package oiffers from others in that it requires T. Murley's signature (due to power level increase) and any cmanents from.ACRS will have to be addressed. A copy of the safety evaluation was mailed to ACRS yesterday.
