CUSTOM REVIEW FOR RUOFF & SONS INC. (CONTROL N0.11559)
This refers to the subject application dated May 29, 1982, and supplemented by letter dated August 18, 1982, and enclosures thereto.
From our review of the application, we conclude that Ruoff & Sons, Inc. (Dept.
of Army Contractor) plans to install sealed Tritium light sources in the M17 and M18 fire control quadrants. They will use up to 1.825 Ci in the M17 and 1.950 C1 in the M18. Table 1 shows the Dept. of Army part no. and the corresponding part no. for the potential supplier. Even though neither the MB Microtec nor the Brandhurst sources are registered with us, the applicant has provided design and test data for our review. Also, we note that the M17 and M18 are currently licensed (License No. 12-00722-06) for distribution within the Dept. of Defense Supply System. However, at the time this titense was approved
- we did not include custom reviews in our registration system.

licensing to the Ruoff & Sons, 2nc. as device manufacturer / distributor and the

Dept. of the Army as custom user.
We plan to issue a registration document in the near future. However, you need j
not hold up the issuance of the Ruoff & Sons. license.
