FONIELY OPERATING REPORT - JANUARY-1988 At the beginning of the report period, Oyster Creek was operating at approximately 666 FMe.
On January 5,
power was briefly reduced to perform turbine valve testing.
On ' January 6,
power was reduced to 635 AMe to remove a reactor recirculation pump from service to replace exciter brushes and stone the collector rings.
On January 7,
plant load was further reduced to approximately 585 SMe to return the pump to service and power was increased to 665 FMe.
On January 13, power was reduced to approximately 577 FMe to remove the cleanup system from service to perform scheduled surveillance testing and to place a new filter ~ in service.
Following satisfactory completion, power was increased to maximum generator load by 2205 hours0.0255 days
0.613 hours
0.00365 weeks
8.390025e-4 months
.
At 1912 hours0.0221 days
0.531 hours
0.00316 weeks
7.27516e-4 months
, a rapid load reduction to 580 FMe was required to stabilize condenser vacuum.
Subsequent investigation determined that one (1) steam trap was sticking closed on a steam jet air ejector condenser.
The trap was freed and condenser vacuum returned to normal.
Power was returned to approximately 665 hWe by 2220 hours0.0257 days
0.617 hours
0.00367 weeks
8.4471e-4 months
.
Maximum generator load was maintained for the balance of the report period except for brief power reductions to perform turbine valve testing and to clear an acoustic monitor alarm on an electromatic relief valve.
