, Gentlemen: l i Attached is a detailed response to violation 482/8723-01 which was !

                  documented in the Reference.                 Violation 482/8723-01 concerns a failure to
                   implement adequate compensatory measures upon failure of the security diesel
                  generator on May 2, 1987.

, l The attachment contains Safeguards Information in accordance with 10 CPR

                  73 21 and therefore should be withheld from public disclosure. This letter,
                  when seperated from the attachment does not contain Safeguards Infomation
                  and should be handled as decontrolled.
