Enclosed is a letter dated June 10,1997, from Mr. Louir A. Elisa 11, Regional Director for FEMA Region I, transmitting the final exercise report for the March' 19,1997, full-i participation exercise at the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station.

One Deticiency and 25 Areas Requiring Corrective Action (ARCAs) were identified during l
this exercise. The Deficiency concerned the timeliness of the first alert and notification i
sequence between the State of Vermont and the town of Brattleboro. This Deficiency was
]
remediated later in the exercise when subsequent siren activation' sequences were
' completed within the required time period.

We request that your staff assist the appropriate off-site officials, where possible, to l
resolve the identified ARCAs prior to the next full-participation exercise, if this has not already been done, i
