CP-83-11 (SUPPLEMENTALREPORT)
Gentlemen:
On June 21, 1983, by our re) ort logged TXX-3690, we notified you of a reportable item regard'ing t1e Component Cooling Water System Class 5 Piping under the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e).
The item was subsequently identified in our last report logged TXX-6435, dated May 13, 1987, as an item for which the originally scheduled completion date for the implementation of corrective actions had elapsed but the implementation of those actions is still in progress.
This report is submitted to status the implementation of those corrective actions.
As described in our report logged tax-3690, a level'bi-stable has been added to the existing level transmitter on both Train A and Train B of the Surge Tanks.
This bi-stable will sense when the tank is empty and provide automatic isolation of both safeguard loops and the non-safeguard loop, and annunciate in the control room.
We have completed a reanalysis of the associated piping to verify seismic adequacy. We have determined that pipe stresses, pipe support loads, and nozzle loads are within design limits, therefore the piping is seismically acceptable as currently installed.
