SUMMARY
OF MEETING WITH WESTINGHOUSE TO DISCUSS REACTOR VESSEL INTERNALS On July 27 and 28, 1994, representatives of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission met with Westinghouse in the Westinghouse office's in Monroeville, Pennsylvania to discuss issues pertaining to the reactor vessel internals for the AP600 design. contains a list of attendees.
During the meeting, the staff reviewed documentation pertaining to the reactor vessel internals configuration, design and functional specifications, design details and analysis results, and flow induced vibration assessment program.
In addition, the staff and Westinghouse discussed request for additional information responses pertaining to reactor vessel internals.
The reactor vessel internals for the AP600 are currently considered non-prototype (vs. prototype). At the conclusion of the meeting, Westinghouse indicated that it will review further the classification of the internals and inform the staff in the near future if the classification will be changed to prototype.
