Combined Inspection Report Nos. 50-245/87-31,50-336/87-26,
50-423/87-27
A routine, unannounced inspection was conducted on November 16-20, 1987, to
review radiation protection activities associated with the Unit 3 refueling
cutage. Areas reviewed in conjunction with outage activities included internal
and external exposure controls, posting and labeling, training, and ALARA. A
preliminary review of personnel access controls associated with the Unit 1
drywell during fuel movement was also conducted.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were identified. The Unit 3
staff was noted to be implementing an effective radiation protection program to
support outage activities. A weakness was noted with the qualification of
respiratory protection support personnel.
Details are provided in the enclosed
combined inspection report. No response to this letter is required.
