Docket No. 70-7001 Change in Commitment Due Dates The United States Enrichment Corporation (USEC) transmitted to the Nuclest Regulatory Commission (NRC) a list of open commitments to the Department of Energy (DOE) by letter GDP 97-0023, dated March 1,1997, " Compliance Plan Issue C1/XI, List of Open United States Enrichment Corporation (USEC) Commitments to the Department of Energy (DOE). The purpose of this letter is to notify the NRC of a change in the schedule for completion of some of the commitments contained in i of the referenced letter.

Issue 24 of the Plan for Achieving Compliance with NRC Regulations at the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant (Compliance Plan), Rev. 3, Change A, provides the plan of action and schedule to achieve

compliance with 10 CFR. 76.95. These Compliance Plan activ'. ties only include the development and J

implementation of the subject training programs. Enclosure *. to letter GDP 97 023 included several commitments to perform a post-implementation NUREG 1220 assessment of the training programs, which j

is not an activity required by the Compliance Plan. The dates for co revised by this letter.

The objective of the assessment of the revised training programs is to evaluate the effectiveness of the programs. If this were done right at the time each program is scheduled to be implemented, the results

.would not be a fair assessment ofprogram effectiveness. Therefore, the required completion dates for the assessments are revised to provide time for each program to reach a steady-state mode of operation. The specific commitment as listed in Enclosure 1 to letter GDP 97-023 is provided in Enclosure 1 to this letter. to this letter includes the item number, issue title, and scheduled completion date as provided in Enclosure 1 to letter GDP 97-023, along with the revised completion date.
