Your letter requested an analysis to demonstrate the Reactor Coolant Pump. Power Monitors and RPS have sufficient isolation to prevent being damaged or disabled due to a fault voltage resulting from any failure or l
combination of failures of the non-qualified equipment or of the inter-connecting cabling between the non-qualified equipment and the qualified equipment of the Reactor Coolant Pump Power Monitors.

After a preliminary analysis showed that the original isolation devices may not be adequate, we discussed developing a relay isolation system or an optical isolation system with John Burdoin and Sheryl Wookey, Febru-ary 22, 1980.
The optical isolators were finally selected due to their superior isolation and discussed with John Burdoin on May 23, 1980.
The attached reports listed above document the functional, seismic, and high voltage tests and qualifications.
We have informed John Burdoin that the completed reports are being sub-mitted to you with an extra copy to him.
