Attached is a copy of the Authorit,y's amendment to the Application for a Department of the Army Permit (Corps of Engineers Permit) for your information.
l The GCNPP barge slip as described in the Environmental Report was designed to accommodate two barges.
We have de-termined that provisions for a single barge will be adequate for construction of the GCNPP.
Therefore, the barge slip will be reduced in width from 100 feet to 60 feet.
This will reduce dredging for the approach channel from 23,00 cubic yards to 15,700 yards and will reduce rock excavation from 10,000 cubic yards to 8,000 cubic yards.
This modification will further reduce any impact of dredging i
.and excavation on the environment, since the volumes of dredged and excavated materials will decrease as noted above and the I
area disturbed by dredging will decrease by approximately 40%.
