(1) The reactor shall be scrammed automatically by a low primary pressure trip signal at 1800 psig whenever the -reactor is 112

. critical. .

(2) The reactor shall be scrammed automatically above 15 MW '-

electric by low main coolant flow signals derived from 118 6P across the steam generators and main coolant pump current.

  • Low flow scram will be initiated by low flow in two of four loops. When the plant is operating with three loops; the low flow trip will be initiated by low flow in any one of the three operating loops.

-(3)' The reactor chall be scrar=ed aute=atically by high pres a

surtzer voter level signal act at a maximt.s of 200 inches

.before the reactor la critical.

(4) The reactor shall not be brought to'critica.lity at a main coolant system temperature lower than 250 F and system preanure lower than 300 puig except for scheduled low power physics testing which shall be performed in accordance with

y. written procedures." .

4 (5) During normal plant startup boric acid dilutton shall not be commenced until the main coolant system temperature has reached equil brium at 250 ?. .

- (6) At zero power, except durin;; physics testing, the moderator temperature coefficient shall not be positive. At rated steady state, power, the .

moderator temperature coef ficient shall be core

until the temperature of the matn coolant is at. least.600F above the nil docttitty temperature of the reactor vessel.  ;

Pressures in exc'ess of this at low temperatures may be i injurious to the reactor vessel. ., l (6) The main coolant systch hcatup and cooldown rate rnest not , j cxeced 600F/hr. The pressurazer heatup and cooldown rato j must not exceed 2000F/hr.

(9) M.cnever a main coolant loop is isolated from the system, it shall be borated at full shutdown concentrations before it's temperature is reduced 300F below the highest cold lec temperature of the operating loops. .

"Following isolation of a main coolant loop,'when the loop' '
