On March 29, 1977, we request'ed that you . evaluate the alara circuitry ,

and diesel generator control ! circuitry for the diesel . generators at Yankee-Rowe. The stated purpose of the evaluation was to determine how each condition that renders;,a ' diesel generator unable to respond to an automatic emergency start , signal is al. armed in the control. room.

You responded by letters date[d May .10,1977, .and April 13, 1978. In addition to providing the results of your evaluation, you proposed to ,

implement during the Decembec.,1.978. refueling . outage specific modifi-cations to improve the diesel,, generator, annunciator alarm provisions.

Based on our review of your responses, we have concluded that your evaluation of the alsrm systems, with the modifications to be implenented as proposed by you, adequately. address the concerns expressed in our ,

letter to you dated March 29, 1977, and are acceptable.
