ACCEPTANCE OF COMANCHE PEAK QA PROGRAN FOR DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION Your letter of September 22, 1978, transmitted your revised program description for quality assurance during design and construction of the Comanche Peak Steam Electric Station (CPSES). This program description included your responses to our requests for additional information discussed in our meeting of September 18, 1978. The letter requested our review and approval of_the revised program.

We have completed our review of the program description for quality assurance during design and construction of the CPSES attached to your September 22, 1978 letter.

The review was primarily a comparison of this submittal versus the information presented in your Preliminary Safety Analysis Report. Based on this review, we find the description of the quality assurance program acceptable for the design and construction of the Comanche Peak Steam Electric Station.

As you know, our Office of Inspection and Enforcement is scheduled to audit the CPSES quality assurance program for design and construction before the end of calendar year 1978. We have informed them of our acceptance of your revised QA program.
