o. Other Plant Protection  !
,

l (1) The reactor shall be scrac=ed automatically, above 15 W electric, when the turbine is tripped for any reason. The  ;

turbine shall be protected by all usual protective trips including high thrust bearing te=perature, lov bearing oil 7 pressure, low condenser vacuum and overspeed.

} (2) The reactor shall be scra=med aute=atically, above 15 W  :

i-electric when the generator is tripped for any reason. The 3"

! generator shall be protected by all usual protective trips j including overcurrent, differential and loss of field.

! (3) Autocatic initiation of the safety injection system, pu ps and i valves, shall be set to operate at a main coolant pressure not less than 1700 psig or a contain=ent p ressure not greater than &

5 psig. h x:

(4) The Low Pressure Safety Injection Accumulator shall have a minicus usable water volu=e of 700 ft3 and shall be pressurized

to 337 psig t 10 psig. l Sk t (5) The Safety Injection System which includes the Charging Purps gf shall be maintained in readiness to inject borated water into si the ra ctor at all t1=es when the cain coolant pressure is @@

1000 psig or higher. Charging systen readiness recuires that (qp;_

two fixed speed pu=ps be available. Since the pumps are high f9-maintenance items, a fixed speed charging p==p =ay be out of service for eight hours before a pressure reduction to less h

than 1000 psig is required. $g-  ;
