NOTICE OF VIOLATION Rhodia, Incorporated License No. 34-14908-01 Based on the inspection conducted on September 12, 1978, it appears that certain of your activities were in noncompliance with NRC requirements, as noted below.

Items 1 and 2 are infractions, and item 3 is a deficiency.

1.

Condition 15.A of your license requires that your chromatograph detector containing Nickel-63 be tested for leakage and/or con-tamination at intervals not to exceed six months.

Contrary to this requirement, as of September 12, 1978, you failed to test your chromatograph detector containing Nickel-63 for contam-ination or leakage since November 29, 1977, a period of more than six months.

2.

10 CFR 20.207(a), requires that you secure licensed materials stored in an unrestricted area against unauthorized removal.

Contrary to this requirement, on September 12, 1978, the day of the inspection, licensed materials were stored in your unlocked walk-in refrigerator and two unlocked freezers which were located in unat-tended and unrestricted areas remote from your laboratories, and which were accessible to unauthorized individuals.

10 CFR 19.11(a) and (b), requires that current copies of Part 19, Part 20, license conditions, documents incorporated into the license, license amendments and operating procedures be posted, or that a notice describing these documents and where they may be examined, be posted.

Contrary to this requirement, on the day of the inspection September 12, 1978, neither the documents nor the notice were posted.
