The subject report entitled, "NRC Safety Significance Assessment Team Report, Units I and 2" (NUREG-1306) has been provi.ed to you under separate cover. .The staff does not have in its possession sufficient copies to distribute to the service list. The distribution will be completed at a later time when the copies become available. The SSAT review of GAP's allegations has identified no substantive safety issue that would warrant dalay in tha NRC's consideration of a full-power license for the South Texas Project, Unit 1. Section 4 of the report identifies actions to be perfort:ed prior to Unit 1 increasing power level beyond 5%. lhe NRC staff will review the completed actions.
