Subject:
Amersham end stops Steve Baggett asked me to send you the following info:
Based on information in the Model 660 background file and on a 12/19/96 discussion with Kate Roughan of Amersham, the minimum wall thickness (side and end) of the end section on the removable end stop used with the flexible guide tubes should be no less than 0.062 inches for stops made of aluminum or brass, and 0.032 inches for stops made of stainless steel.
These values nre based on dimensions listed in a "descr:ptive drawing" of the removable source stop, Dwg # R RSTOP, dated 4/12/96. The 660 file references a removable source stop, Model 69104. There was no dimensioned drawing for the 69104 in the 660 file. Kate Roughan stated that the 69104 is a manufacturing drawing related to the Dwg # R RSTOP, and that the minimum wall thickness specified in the Model 69104 drawing would not be less than the minimum thickness listed on the Dwg
- R RSTOP. It may be possible that the minimum wall thickness listed on the actual manufacturing drawing 69104 is greater than the 0.062/0.032 referenced above.
