Mr. James P. O'Reilly Vogtle 2 Gentlemen:

A problem with embed assemblies was recently detected at the Vogtle Nuclear Plant - Units 1 & 2.

Based on our review of the problem, it could constitute a possible significant deficiency per 10CFR50.55(e).

In accordance with NRC regulation, we are submitting an interim report.

A final report will be submitted upon completion of the technical evaluation.
