Thank you for your letter of September 25, 1978, informing us of steps you have taken to correct the items of noncompliance concerning activities under NRC License No. SNM-1097 brought to your attention in our letter of August 15, 1978.
With regard to Item D, we understand that your procedure for calculating LEMUF has been changed to require submittal of all current data from all departments for inclusion in the LEMUF calculations and that this procedure is currently in effect.
With regard to Item F, we understand that your procedure for packaging waste boxes has been modified to place limits on the content of these boxes so that they may be transferred to licensed burial rather than being held for an indefinite period. We further understand that this procedure is currently in effect.
We have considered your comments on items of non-compliance referenced in your letter.
It is NRC policy to give citations whenever regulatory requirements are not met.
We have taken into consideration in this case, the significance of the cited items by categarizing most of them as " deficiencies"; although these same items could be " infractions" under different circumstances.
No additional information has been provided to change our findings; therefore, the items remain as previously cited. We will examine your corrective actions and plans during subsequent inspections.
