NOTICE OF VIOLATION Commonwealth Edison Company Docket No. 50-454 Docket No. 50-455 As a result of the inspection conducted on January 11 through February 17, 1988, and in accordance with the "General Policy and Procedures for NRC Enforcement Actions," 10 CFR Part 2, Appendix C (1987), the following violation was identified:

10 CFR 50.49, Paragraphs (f) and (g) require equipment important to safety to be qualified by testing and analysis prior to the EQ deadline of November 30, 1985.

Contrary to the above, one ASCO solenoid valve and two NAMC0 limit switches associated with containment isolation valve IPR 066 were found unqualified past the EQ deadline, based on inadequate documentation. This deficiency was identified, corrected and reported by the licensee within a reasonable period of time. Other similar components were also reviewed by the licensee and no further deficiencies were identified.

This is a Severity Level IV violation (Supplement ID) (50-454/88003-07(DRS)).

The inspection showed that action had been taken to correct the identified violation and to prevent recurrence. Consequently, no reply to the violation ,

is required and we have no further questions regerding this matter.
