Arizona Public Service Company (APS) has reviewed NRC Inspection Report 50-528/529/530/96-20 and the Unresolved items (URis) dated January 30,1997. As requested in the inspection Report cover letter, APS' response is enclosed. Enclosure 1 to this letter is a restatement of the URis and APS' response is provided in.
APS has attempted to satisfy the requirements of 10 CFR 73.55 (c)(7) and believes the Vehicle Barrier System (VBS), as a whole, provides the necessary protection against the design basis threat. However, actions are being aggressively pursued to enhance or strengthen the areas identified as vulnerabilities.
Enclosures 1 and 2 of this submittal contain Safeguards Information subject to the controls l
of 10 CFR 73.21 and should be withheld from public disclosure and should not be placed in the Public Document Room.
