SUMMARY

Months December, 1987 Catawba Unit i began the month of December in its End of Cycle 2 Refueling Outage. The unit returned to service at 1622 on 12/31 and held power at 10% for Zero Power Physics Testing.

The unit was removed from service at 2314 on 12/31 following a Turbine Overspeed Trip Test. The unit remained out of service at

Catawba Unit 2 began the month of December operating at 75% power in a Core l.

Coastdown tcwards its End of Cycle 1 Refueling Outage.

On 12/07 at 2125, the i

unit was reduced to 65% power due to a seal rupture on the 1A" Feedwater Pump.

The. unit remained at 65% power until 12/23 at 1600 when it was removed from service to begin its End of Cycle 1 Refueling Outage. The unit finished the i
