TOPICAL REPORTS, " STRUCTURAL RESPONSE OF CRBRP SCALE MODELS TO A SIMU-A LATED HYPOTHETICAL CORE DISRUPTIVE ACCIDENT" (WARD-D-0218) AND " CLOSURE HEAD CAPABILITY FOR STRUCTURAL MARGIN BEYOND DESIGN BASE LOADING" D-0178)
Enclosed are seventy (70) copies of each of the subject reports, dated October 1978 and November 1978, respectively.
These documents provide comprehensive technical information which supports and substantiates the CRBRP Project position relative to Structural Margin Beyond Design Base evaluation of the CRBRP Closure Head.
Extensive analytical and experimental information on the ability of the CRBRP Closure Head System to withstand an SMBDB loading is provided in WARD-D-0178. Further detailed information on the CRBRP 1/20 scale model tests to simulated HCDA energetic loadings is provided in WARD-D-0218.
The responses previously submitted to the NRC that are related to this topic will be updated to reference the enclosed topical reports in a future amendment to the Preliminary Safety Analysis Report (PSAR).
