Dear Mr. Gordon:
This confirms your telephone conversation with Mr. Frank W. Karas of my staff on September 29, 1978, concerning your letter dated September 8, 1978, in which you request, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, all information concerning radiation leakage and safety problems at the Oconee Nuclear Power Plant operated by Duke Power Company in Oconee County, South Carolina.
Your request was received by the Office of Administration on September 15, 1978.
In your telephone conversation with Mr. Karas you requested that your F0IA request, identified as above, be withdrawn.
Accordingly, the NRC has terminated action on your request.
As Mr. Karas indicated, a sizeable collection of documents for the Oconee plant is publicly available at the local Public Document Room located at the Oconee County Library, 201 South Spring Street,Walhalla, South Carolina 29691.
