Dear Mr. Wood:
We have reviewed your letter of September 27, 1978, in which you describe the training program currently being conducted for Messrs. Lehouillier and Rescor1.
The program is designed to correct the deficiencies identified in the letters j
of denial issued to the two men following the recent NRC examinations and to prepare them for reexamination in November.
The training program consists of additional classroom and on-the-job training with emphasis on periodic audits of the applicants' progress by both inhouse as well as consultant personnel.
We consider the program to be reasonable and one which should result in well-trained and competent operators. Therefore, we will accept Maine Yankee's certification pursuant to 10 CFR Part 55.10(a)(6) upon the applicants' success-ful completion of the program.
