10 CFR 50.49 ENVIRONMENTAL QUALIFICATION INSPECTION, MILLSTONE 3 NUCLEAR POWER PLANT (50-423/88-04)

This letter confirms the dates of March 14, 1988 for the NRC 10 CFR 50.49 environmental qualification (EQ) inspection of Millstone 3.

These dates were established during a conference call on February 9, 1988 between Mr. B. A. Tuthill of your organization and Mr. R. Paolino of the NRC Region I office. The inspec-tion will take place at the licensee's corporate office in Berlin, Connecticut, with a one day plant visit on Wednesday, March 16, 1988.

A management entrance meeting is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on March 14, 1988.

The management exit meeting 1s tentatively scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on March 18, 1988.

The inspection will include the following:

1.

Review of your implementation of 10 CFR 50.49 EQ program, including preservation of qualified status of equipment.

2.

Review of your implementation of Technical Evaluation Report / Safety Evaluation Report EQ corrective action commitments.

3.

Review of EQ documentation files.

4.

Physical inspection of equipment from the Master List.

One week prior to the inspection we will need copies of each document identified in attachment 1, items 1 through 6.

A duplicate copy should be sent to:
